Immature birds are also rather similar to their only close relative the Whistling Kite ( Haliastur sphenurus), though Brahminy Kites have much shorter, rather eagle-like tails and shorter wings. Immature birds differ greatly in appearance from the adults, third photo, and are easily confused with other raptors such as, in Australia, pale phase Little Eagles or immature Black-breasted Buzzards. Its population in New South Wales contracted northwards owing to the use of persistent organochloride insecticides in the third quarter of the 20th century, but there is some evidence of recovery since then. In Australia its range is mainly tropical from Carnarvon in Western Australia across northern Australia and down the east coast as far as about Myall Lakes in New South Wales, though it is uncommon south of Cape Byron. Their range extends from Pakistan in the west through south and southwest Asia to eastern China and Taiwan, and south through the Philippines, Malaysia and Indonesia to New Guinea and Australia. The names “Brahminy” and Haliastur indus give a clue as to their geographical range, as they were first described in India. With a length of about 50cm/20in and a wingspan of 1.2m/47in, they’re much smaller than sea-eagles (80cm/31in and 1.8-2.2m/71-87in), but their preferred habitat and diet means that they’re are often called sea-eagles by the general population. It’s not unusual to see them cruising main roads looking for road-kill. They have, however, very broad tastes and will eat any flesh that they can catch or find, both vertebrate and invertebrate. The hooked beak is like that of the White-bellied Sea-Eagle, so it’s no surprise that they are adapted to eating fish, for which they both hunt and scavenge and are usually found near water, mainly coastal but also along larger rivers. They’re a common sight along the coast here in North Queensland, and the bird in the first two photos was photographed at Toomulla Beach, about 40km northwest of Townsville and not far from where I live in Bluewater. This is one of my favourite Australian raptors and the adults are striking looking birds with their white and chestnut plumage. In those days you got a single photo and a short paragraph of text, so here is a more thorough treatment. The Brahminy Kite last featured as bird of the week in August 2003. Surprise, surprise – another bird of the moment at last.

The ’Server Name’ column shows the server name. The ’Server Type’ indicates on what type of database server the query was executed. Those columns are formatted according to the locale. History Grid - The ’Start Date/Time’ and ’End Data/Time’ columns show the time the query started and ended execution. Pressing it displays an alert box with the path to the Archive directory, the total number of entries in the archive, the total archive size in Kilobytes, and the date and time of the latest archive entry. The SQL History Archive has an additional "Information" button, an I within a circle, within its toolbar. The contents of the History and Archive grid, like all of the other grids displayed in Aqua Data Studio, can be sorted CTRL + Click on multiple column headers or rearranged by dragging the column headers into new positions. The SQL Archive tab displays all queries in the Archive (limited by the archive size set in File->Options->General->SQL History). Below each tab the history items are displayed in a grid. The SQL History tab displays only the number of entries set by the Max History value. The Quickfilter allows live filtering of the contents of the History grid.īelow these buttons and form fields are tabs for SQL History and SQL Archive. Auto Archive automates the archiving process. Max Statements per Entry limits the number of statements an individual item in the history can contain. The Max History input field sets the number of items visible before storing to the archive. Copy Compare launches the comparison tool for selected items. Save Script takes the currently selected item and prompts the user to save it with a file name. Archive All writes all of the displayed contents of the SQL History to the SQL Archive. Archive Selected places the current item in the SQL History Archive. Delete All deletes all of the contents of the SQL History. Delete Selected deletes the current item in the SQL History. The Select and Close button does the same, but closes the History after writing the item to the Main Application Window. The Select button writes the currently selected item into the current tool in the Main Application Window. The SQL History and SQL History Archive display history items in a window with buttons for Select, Select and Close, Delete Selected, Delete All, Archive Selected, Archive All, Save Script, Toggle Preview, Close, Copy Compare, Max History, Max Statements per Entry, Auto Archive checkbox and the Quickfilter. If the ’Max Statements Per Entry’ is set to 5 and a script of 100 statements are executed only the first five would be stored with that entry. The ’Max Statments Per Entry’ sets the maximum number of statments stored in a history entry. The ’Max History’ sets the maximum number of SQL commands stored in the history. The SQL History window provides a list of previously executed statements from which to choose a query. The history window does not need to be closed to continue working on your queries, and may run side-by-side with the main window. The SQL History dialog can be activated by clicking on the SQL History toolbar button. To view detailed SQL Logs captured from all areas of Aqua Data Studio, see the SQL Log page. Double clicking on an SQL History item writes it into the current tool for reexecution or editing. Aqua Data Studio includes an SQL History, and SQL History Archive which provides a history of all SQL statements and scripts that have been executed within the Query Analyzer, Query Builder, Table Data Editor and SQL Debuggers. In this blog post, we will walk you through the steps of using CAMPs to change, manage or update your Intuit CAMPs account. It further provides an easy way to download the products, find license number or cancel your subscription. Not just that, you can review charges, update payment methods, change credit cards, as well as update billing information and email addresses. With Intuit CAMPs, you can manage your accounts, products, contacts, billing, and user ID Access. Fortunately, Intuit offers a user-friendly portal called the Customer Account Management Portal (CAMPs) that makes it easy to manage your account. If you use QuickBooks for your accounting needs, you may need to update or manage your Intuit account from time to time. Remember that the roles created within the Intuit Account User Management Dashboard are NOT the same as the roles and permissions within the QuickBooks Company file itself, those roles and permissions are still configured using the prior method depending on if you are using QuickBooks Pro/Premier or QuickBooks Enterprise.Ĭompany-file Administrators will also use this same dashboard to manage Intuit Account users and their roles for future requirements as additional features and services change. That user must accept the user and either log in to an existing Intuit Account or create a new Intuit Account. When you add a user in the manner shown above an invitation will be sent to the email you specified for the user. By default, every user you create will be assigned a ‘Basic user’. In the future, it is likely that many cloud-based connected-services will require users to have Intuit Accounts so that those services can be liked/associated with a specific QuickBooks Desktop file.Īvailable roles will depend on several factors including the various connected services you have available for a specific file. For QuickBooks Desktop users with the following connected services: Payments, Payroll direct deposit, TSheets time tracking, Payroll Workforce, Receipt Management (which was new in QuickBooks 2021), as well as Mobile Warehouse and Inventory services for QuickBooks Enterprise Solutions. When a new QuickBooks Company file is created.(Pro and Premier Administrators may currently elect to delay this action for up to 28 days and QuickBooks Enterprise Administrators may currently elect to delay this action for up to 42 days.) It is likely that the number of days in which an Administrator may elect to delay the action of linking their Company tile to their Intuit account will be reduced over time.
To start the game, look at the face-up cards to see if you can move any of them to access the face-down cards underneath. Place the remaining cards in a pile off to the side. Repeat until every column has a face-up card at the bottom. Once you finish all 4 foundation piles, you win! To set up the game, first place 1 card face up and 6 cards face down to the right. To play solitaire, try to get all of the cards into 4 foundation piles, 1 pile per suit, in ascending order from ace to king. Once all of the reserve cards have run out, you can take them from the discard pile and return them to the reserve pile so you can keep removing cards from the pyramid. If no cards can be made into pairs, the next reserve card is flipped over. The top card of the reserve deck can also be used to make 13. Kings are 13 points, queens 12, jacks 11 and the rest of the cards represent their face values (aces are 1.) For example, you could remove a king you could also remove an 8 and 5, because they add up to 13. You can only remove cards that have a value of 13. Remove cards one at a time or in pairs.Create a reserve pile with the left over cards.Note that some people play that you only use 21 cards to make the pyramid. Each row should overlap the row above it. until all 28 cards have been placed in the pyramid. It should be stacked so that the rows are made of one card, then two cards, then three cards, etc. Deal out 28 cards into the shape of a pyramid, face up.The object of the game is to remove all of the cards in the pyramid and reserve pile and place them in the discard pile by creating pairs that equal 13 in point value. While Amazon only has three Kindle models to choose from (new generations keep replacing the older ones), Kobo has taken its hardware catalog to six different devices across different budgets. Kobo has even kept its pricing competitive with Amazon – the latest 6.8-inch Paperwhite is now more expensive than the 2018 model thanks to its bigger screen and USB-C charging port, but for a little extra money you could get the Libra 2 with far more storage and a slightly bigger screen, not to mention the one-handed convenience of the page-turn buttons that Amazon pioneered in the Oasis. We're yet to test the new devices, so keep a lookout for our full review. For example, the book navigator that launched with the Kobo Libra H2O quickly made it to the older and basic models, and we’re expecting to see a similar setup on the Sage as is used in the Elipsa to add notes and annotations. In comparison, Kobo has far more frequent firmware updates, and there’s usually something new added to the UX when new hardware is launched. The biggest overhaul of the user experience has only just rolled out, having last been updated way back in 2016. It took Amazon three years to refresh the Kindle Paperwhite, and the tech giant isn’t very regular with firmware updates either. The company hasn’t slowed since then, evolving quite quickly from the basic Kobo Glo to the ultimate Kobo Elipsa.Īmazon, on the other hand, hasn’t seen the need to refresh its line of ebook readers quite as regularly perhaps it doesn't need to, as its Kindles remain the most popular ereader brand on the market today. Kobo has been consistently bringing us new ereaders since 2010, starting with the aptly named Kobo eReader. Sleepcovers for both new Kobos are also available to buy separately.Īnalysis: Getting ahead in the ereader race If you’re keen on adding the Kobo Stylus and the PowerCover, then you’re looking at an additional $39.99 / £39.99 / AU$69.95 and $79.99 / £69.99 / AU$129.99 respectively. The differences, however, make the Sage a lot more expensive than the Libra 2, launching with a price tag of $259.99 / £249.99 / AU$439.95. The Sage also comes with 32GB of internal storage, Bluetooth connectivity, and an IPX8 certification that makes it waterproof for up to 60 minutes in two meters of water. It’s essentially a magnetic sleepcover with a built-in battery, which sounds like a useful accessory as the Kobo Sage has a 1,200mAh battery as opposed to the Libra 2’s 1,500mAh option.Īnd other than a larger screen (8 inches as compared to the Libra 2’s 7 inches), everything else about the two new Kobo ereaders is pretty much the same. The stylus isn’t the only accessory to set the Kobo Sage apart – there’s a brand-new PowerCover that can be purchased separately that will charge your device while you’re on the move. As an 8-inch option with the asymmetric shape, the Kobo Sage could be a lot easier to handle with a stylus for anyone who likes to make notes while they read. Our main gripe with the Elipsa was that a 10.3-inch ereader was just too unwieldy to write on when used handheld, it needed to be on a table for a comfortable writing experience. The new Kobo Sage also boasts a big industry first, being the first mainstream ereader to come with stylus support – although unlike the larger Elipsa, the Kobo Stylus won't be included as standard with the Sage it'll need to be purchased separately. You’ll cut out that outline and carefully staple the two pieces together at the very top. Then you’re going to trace the outline against a piece of construction paper or cardstock. Solitaire 40 Voleurs Solitaire 40 Voleurs (Solitaire Forty Thieves) est l'une des variantes du solitaire de cartes qui prsente un haut niveau de complexit. but it makes sense from an r and d stand point that they needed something to prototype the blade and the LS series before that they can also sell. in fact from 300hz to 55khz (while the blade only goes up to 35khz) the measurements are better and they don't only look the similar in the outside but use the same technology on the inside including the diffusing internal blades and the sealed suspension system that the Meta material is supposed to solve. I did some research and found out that the 3001SEs was so over engineered because it was literally the prototype to the Blade. I couldn't believe it so had someone else online try picking up a pair and he was equally floored. It turns out the 3001SEs weren't only built better, sound better, and solved all the issues the ls50 meta is supposed to solve years ago, but it literally beat the ls50s in every blind test no matter how I placed them. Got them expecting to use them in my lounge and grabbed the 3001SEs thinking they'd be good as surrounds. Surly Sid said:The KEF LS 50 is THE MOST OVER RATED speaker in history. We’ve heard more enthusiastic rivals, but none that can match the KEF’s many and varied range of strengths. There’s a good degree of punch to the bass and the KEFs render rhythms in a surefooted manner. Their detailed and clear midrange performance makes the most of Cherry’s passionate vocals, delivering dynamic nuances and subtle shifts in timing superbly. We switch to Neneh Cherry’s Blank Project and these KEFs continue to shine. We’re also impressed by the image’s stability when the music gets demanding. The LS50 Meta generate an expansive and tightly focused soundstage where the instruments are layered convincingly. KEF’s Uni-Q designs tend to image well by their very nature, and these speakers are no different. They will reveal the shortcomings in poor recordings, but don’t go out of their way to be nasty. The KEFs sound smooth and balanced while still having enough in the way of high-frequency bite. There’s little to complain about when it comes to tonality. These are refined and composed performers that rarely sound stressed unless volume levels are high. Large-scale dynamics are handled well and there’s a good amount of muscle for a speaker of this size. The LS50 Meta make the older non-Meta R3 speakers sound congested and ham-fisted in comparison, and that’s a real shock. These new KEFs sound so much cleaner and more sophisticated than before, particularly at higher frequencies. But you might miss out on the LS50 Meta's lovely sense of integration.Īnd the Metamaterial technology really works, too. Stretch to the likes of the newer, larger three-way KEF R3 Meta (£1900 / $2200 / AU$3900) and you’ll get notably more in terms of low-frequency reach, refinement and openness. Still, there’s only so deep a 13cm magnesium/aluminium mid/bass unit in a smallish, 30cm-tall cabinet can go. It’s a surprisingly full-bodied presentation with a good degree of authority for such compact speakers. They sound so much more transparent than before and manage to render low-level details, such as instrumental textures, much more convincingly. Listening to Beethoven’s Fifth Symphony, we’re soon marvelling at the LS50 Meta’s delicacy and precision. While the basic sonic character is instantly familiar, the new ones have gained a level of clarity and finesse the originals only hinted at. It doesn’t take long to realise that the LS50 have improved significantly. We've also suggest placing them on dedicated speaker stands for the best results. They won’t sulk if you do, but they will sound a lot better if placed around 50cm into a room and well away from the sidewalls. In fact, these LS50 Meta speakers are now a staple of What Hi-Fi?'s listening room reference system, and we pair them with most price-compatible sources and amplifiers that go through our reviewing process.Īt just 30cm tall, these KEFs are pretty compact, but don’t be tempted to stuff them in a bookshelf or right up against a wall. We've tried all three combinations, including pricier models, over the last few years and the KEF more than hold their own. We suggest the five-star Cambridge Audio CXA81 and Arcam A15 integrated amplifiers with a suitably capable source, though such are the LS50 Meta’s capabilities that you could easily use the likes of the more premium Naim SuperNait 3, and the speakers wouldn’t be limiting. These aren’t particularly sensitive speakers, at a rated 85dB/W/m, and the minimum impedance is just 3.5 ohms, so it makes sense to partner them with an amplifier that has a bit of grunt. Aside from a slight shift in crossover frequency – from 2.2kHz to 2.1kHz – the specifications look identical. There have been tweaks to the crossover to take all the drive unit changes into account. |
